Now in its 4th exciting year, ARTWALK, the St. Clair Arts Festival and Studio Tour, runs on the weekend of September 29 & 30. It is gearing up to be the best yet. The secret of ARTWALK's continuing success is largely due to the many volunteers who give their time so generously throughout the year. The festival certainly would not happen without them. But there is always room for more.
Right now we could really benefit from the expertise of volunteers in professional fields. Are you a lawyer or an accountant who would be willing to donate a little time to this great community project? Do you have experience with publicity, management of volunteer groups, fundraising endeavors?
Your help would be invaluable in developing the ARTWALK festival. At the center of ARTWALK are the artists, musicians and literary personalities who showcase their work for public enjoyment. But behind-the-scenes contributors are equally important. They put the show on the road.
Will you help? In return we can promise you great opportunities to make valuable new friends and contacts within the arts arena, personal satisfaction from watching your efforts build a well-respected community event, and of course, our most sincere appreciation.
Please contact this year's ARTWALK Coordinator, Tracy Call, at 416-653-6928 to offer your services. Or, if you would prefer to speak with our founder and chair of the board, please call Eric David at 416-654-9421. He will be pleased to tell you more about the festival.
Calling all Arts-friendly electricians in the St. Clair West area...
Hello all Arts-friendly electricians in the St. Clair West area: ARTWALK and your community needs you!
Septemeber 29th and 30th, 2007, during the ARTWALK festival, we need a volunteer electrician to:
- connect all of the audio equipment to the electrical board at St. Michael And All Angels when set-up for the outdoor music stage happens.
It is quite a simple operation that takes only a few minutes to do and will take place at around 9-10 am, and again at the end of the day, both days, time to be confirmed.
Due to more stringent safety regulations, Artwalk will need to provide a certified electrician to do the connecting to the electrical board and also to disconnect at the end of the day on Sunday. Last year the fellow who worked the mixing board did this for us but this year we need to find an electrician who can volunteer his/her time for this task.
If you are able to donate some time to your community and the Arts, please contact Vince Peets at: vincepeets@yahoo.ca. |
